CamTESOL Workshop on English Language Teaching

4 September 2004

Hotel Inter-Continental, Phnom Penh

Brief Overview

The first CamTESOL workshop was designed more as a “mini-conference” than a workshop.  The aim was to have a practice run for 2005, since this was the first event of its kind.

Registration for this workshop was higher than expected.  602 people registered.  The vast majority of participants were Cambodian teachers of English.  550 participants were Cambodian and 52 were non-Cambodian.  Approximately 15 participants came from foreign countries specifically for this event.

The workshop program consisted of a short opening ceremony, a keynote address (delivered by Ms Psyche Kennett), two parallel sessions (four streams in each) and a closing plenary (delivered by Dr Jonathan Hull).
