Background
Information
Introduction
This is a conference for professionals in the field of English Language Teaching and related issues. The 2005 conference was the first of an annual CamTESOL conference series. The theme of this first conference was “Practical Issues in Teaching”.
The conference is organised and is conducted on a voluntary
basis. It is intended to become
a self-sustaining conference series based on professional interest of
those concerned. This conference series is conducted in English.
This conference is being spearheaded by IDP Education,
but with the active participation of a broad range of institutions involved
in English Language Teaching. The
conference series reflects active participation of all ELT institutions
that are professionally-orientated.
Intended Audience
The conference
brings together the following groups:

Classroom teachers of English

Future teachers of English / teacher-trainees

Administrators of English Language Schools and Universities

Educators with an interest in international language education

Donors interested in supporting English specifically and international education generally

ELT-related individuals and institutions e.g. book publishers, book shop representatives, Ministry of Education representatives, NGO representatives

Foreign experts or researchers on Cambodia who wish to network within the ELT community in Cambodia

Aims
The aims of the conference are:

to provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and dissemination of information on good practices within English Language Teaching

to strengthen and broaden the network of English Language teachers and all those involved in the English Language Teaching (ELT) sector in Cambodia

to increase the links between the ELT community in Cambodia and the international ELT community

to showcase research in the field of ELT
