Language Education in Asia Plagiarism Policy
Plagiarism is the use of the ideas and works of others and oneself without properly citing, paraphrasing, or quoting.  Authors should take special care to ensure that all ideas and works of others, as well as those of the author, are acknowledged and appropriately used in their submissions.

Authors of submissions which are found to contain minor instances of identical or similar passages to published works will be asked to either paraphrase and cite or quote and cite the passages in question.

Submissions containing major instances of identical or similar passages to published works, whether of the author or others, will be rejected. Subsequent submissions from authors who have submitted a paper found to contain major instances of plagiarism will be rejected without review.

For online resources on plagiarism, paraphrasing, and quoting, we recommend the Research and Citation section of Purdue Owl at http://owl.english.purdue.edu

 crosscheck

CrossCheck is a multi-publisher initiative to screen published and submitted content for originality.  Language Education in Asia (LEiA) is committed to actively combating plagiarism and publishing original research.  LEiA uses the iThenticate software to detect instances of overlapping and similar text in submitted manuscripts.  For more information about CrossCheck, visit http://www.crossref.org/crosscheck.html

iThenticate is also available to authors and researchers who wish to check their papers before submission.  iThenticate compares submitted documents to extensive data repositories to create a comprehensive report which highlights and provides links to any significant text matches, helping to ensure the submission of an original and well-attributed document. iThenticate for Researchers is a separate service to CrossCheck.
